LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Our Portland, OR-based team at Avenue resides on unceded Indigenous land. The Portland Metro Area is the traditional territory of the Multnomah, Wasco, Cowlitz, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Bands of Chinook, Tualatin, Kalapuya, Molalla, and other tribes who established both permanent settlements and seasonal encampments along the Columbia River. We honor the sacrifices forced upon these Indigenous communities and commit to continued learning and action to uplift them.

This year brought real transformation, both inside our walls and across the industry. We evolved our team structure, refined our internal processes, and found fresh ways to do our best work together. And beyond Avenue, the digital marketing world was buzzing with change. AI, AI-powered search, and a wave of new innovations opened up exciting possibilities, and we were right there, exploring, experimenting, and helping our clients navigate it all.

That's what this report is about. The momentum we built as a team, the innovations we embraced, and the impact we created together with our clients and community. We love a year that pushes us to grow, and 2025 delivered.

Our Impact Journey in 2025

This past year was all about building momentum, together. We embraced significant change, from evolving our team structure and internal processes to navigating a digital marketing landscape being reshaped by AI and new technologies. Through it all, we stayed rooted in what matters most: doing meaningful work, showing up for our community partners, and pushing the industry forward with intention.

This report reflects our 2025 journey with honesty and gratitude. Every step forward was made possible by our incredible team and the partners who share our belief that business can and should be a force for good!

PURPOSE + STAKEHOLDER GOVERNANCE

Traditional corporate governance prioritizes profit maximization for shareholders. Stakeholder governance takes a different approach by ensuring companies consider the interests of all stakeholders in their decision-making processes, including customers, workers, suppliers, communities, the environment, and shareholders. This holistic model addresses systemic issues and promotes sustainable, inclusive business practices.

Avenue’s highest level of corporate oversight is our Non-Fiduciary Advisory Board, composed of five CEOs and executives based in Portland. This board supports and advises our CEO on Avenue’s future growth, development, impact, and leadership, ensuring we remain aligned with our mission and continue to make a positive impact

Since 2019, Avenue has produced seven formal impact reports, demonstrating our commitment to transparency and accountability. 

These reports highlight our ongoing efforts and progress in making a positive impact on our community and the environment.

TRANSPARENCY WITH FINANCE

Avenue is committed to fostering trust and transparency by disclosing all financial information (excluding salary details) to 100% of the staff on a monthly basis. 

Additionally, we conduct an intentional education program on shared financials through our monthly State of the Avenue Meetings, ensuring our team is informed and engaged in our financial health and decision-making processes.

VALUES-DRIVEN BANKING

Avenue prioritizes partnerships with values-driven banking institutions. 

By banking with a B Corp, we ensure our financial practices align with our commitment to social and environmental responsibility.

JUSTICE, EQUITY, DIVERSITY & INCLUSION
(JEDI)

Taking continuous action on JEDI is the foundation of a safe and equitable workplace that fosters belonging and upholds critical labor and human rights. This section focuses on Avenue’s commitment and impact in Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, highlighting our efforts to create an inclusive environment that supports and values diversity, promotes equity, and ensures justice for all stakeholders.

We developed the Avenue Foundation's Avenues of Impact Mentorship and Marketing Grant Program in 2024 to support purpose-driven, BIPOC-owned small businesses in Oregon making social, environmental, or community impact.

Funded by 1% of Avenue Agency's revenue, the grant provides financial grants, free digital marketing and business coaching consultations.

In 2025, we selected our first grant recipient, marking an important milestone in our commitment to supporting mission-driven entrepreneurs in our community!

Tenzin Yeshi (aka Kyikyi)

Himalayan Dumplings by Kyikyi

Kyikyi is the founder of Himalayan Dumplings by Kyikyi, the first woman-owned Tibetan food brand in the United States. What began as a seasonal passion project to share her heritage has grown into a national award-winning business named the SBA’s 2024 Nano Small Business of the Year.

As a Tibetan refugee, Kyikyi’s self-funded immigrant dream, with aspirations to grow nationwide, is as much about honoring Tibetan culture and a story of resilience as it is about inviting the community to experience the flavors, spirit, and living history in every bite, while breaking ground in representation as the only Tibetan in the frozen dumpling category.

“Brand visibility has become more important than ever for small businesses, and for me, wearing every hat on a shoestring budget means marketing often feels like one of the steepest climbs. The Avenues of Impact mentorship and grant equipped me with practical tools, essential guidance, and funding to make brand building feel less overwhelming and more sustainable, ultimately helping amplify my small business voice. As the first recipient of this grant, I’m deeply grateful and honestly proud to receive this award from one woman founder to another, and the kind of subject-matter expert guidance I couldn’t have accessed at this stage of my journey without this opportunity.” - Tenzin

EMPOWERING WOMEN & BIPOC ENTREPRENEURS

Through our partnerships with Prosper Portland, Mercatus, and Xxcelerate, we’ve supported over 45 women and BIPOC entrepreneurs by providing business mentorship and marketing consultation, and distributing over $90,000 in grant funds since 2022.

AVENUE’S DESIGNED TO GIVE MODEL


Since our inception, Avenue has been dedicated to community impact by donating 5% or more of our annual revenue to local nonprofits. This includes financial contributions, in-kind products, and expenses for delivering services to amplify their good work and impact. 

Avenue consistently donates 1% or more of our annual gross revenue in cash to support these nonprofits. Through these efforts, we strive to make a meaningful difference in our community, enhancing the positive impact of local organizations.

CHARITY OF CHOICE

Avenue's Charity of Choice program provides Oregon-based nonprofits with up to $25,000 in pro bono marketing services annually, accounting for over 2.5% of employee time and reflecting our commitment to supporting local causes and amplifying their impact.

This year, Avenue dedicated those services to The Divergent Gift: Unboxing Autism, a documentary deepening positive autistic identity through diverse interviews and rich animations that explore the question: am I on the spectrum?

Our Digital Strategist, Jazmyne Hudson, also served on the SMART Reading Associate Board this year. As an associate board member, she supported various fundraising campaigns and community engagement efforts that expand access to reading support and help spark a lifelong love of reading and learning in children.

TEAM MEMBERS INVESTING IN THE COMMUNITY

Avenue team members invested $5,400 back into the local community through our company-funded Shop Local Stipend, a monthly benefit that empowers each team member to support the local businesses and nonprofits that matter most to them.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR INCLUSION IN DIGITAL MARKETING

Interested in applying for 2026? Applications are accepted through August 15th, with the recipient announced by end of August and funds distributed in September.

For the fifth year in a row, Avenue partnered with fellow B Corp Intuitive Digital to fund the Inclusion in Digital Marketing Scholarship, contributing to a $2,500 award supporting students of color pursuing careers in digital marketing.

This year's recipient is Kate Maria Falkowski, a junior at Monmouth University, who said it best:

"Design has always been more than a skillset to me. It represents a means of connection, expression, and visibility that spans across multiple communities and online spaces."

That perspective is exactly what this scholarship is all about. We're proud to support students like Kate who are shaping the future of our industry.

PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SCRIPT

This past summer, Avenue hosted an intern from The Script for the seventh year, furthering our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment and empowering the next generation of leaders in the digital marketing field.

The Script provides pathways to leadership for traditional and non-traditional students of diverse backgrounds and aspiring professionals through their internship program. 

Fun Fact: Our Senior Operations Manager, Sharon Sherpa, was an intern at Avenue through the Script in 2021!

In addition to Unlimited PTO, Avenue closes the virtual office for 2 Holiday Weeks each year, in June/July and December. These dedicated breaks allow our team to take a break and recharge. We believe the benefit is mutual; when team members return, they are stronger, fresher, and ready to tackle new creative challenges for all of our amazing client partners.

TEAM PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

This year, the Avenue team attended several key industry events including the Women in Tech SEO Conference, B Local PDX’s BLD Leadership Conference, and more!

Avenue is dedicated to investing in the ongoing training and education of our team. This includes monthly anti-racism sessions with Construct the Present, StrengthsFinder training sessions, and one-on-one coaching with an outside consultant for the entire team. 

Our managers participate in monthly management training sessions with an external consultant, alongside hosting monthly lunch and learns sessions on various topics, featuring both internal team members and guest speakers.

CULTURE OF GRATITUDE, CONNECTION, & SUPPORT

Our Daily Huddle tradition is the heartbeat of our company. Every Monday through Thursday, we connect as a virtual team for a 10-minute session to update each other on our priorities, seek support for accomplishing tasks and goals, and share shout-outs and appreciations. 

This practice fosters a culture of gratitude, connection, and support, ensuring that we stay aligned and motivated as a team.

Our team is our greatest asset, and in 2026 we're doubling down on that. Expanded professional development, new growth opportunities, and a culture that champions curiosity and leadership at every level. We want every person at Avenue to feel empowered to do the most meaningful work of their career.
